Cuando se nos olvido Betty la fea?

Sorry for all my followers but this post is going to be in spanish.

Hace un par de semana estaba bebiendo cerveza con grupo de personas en Brasil, era un grupo bastante diverso, y pues bueno, como es costumbre cuando uno no esta en una fiesta o en un bar empezaron los ya conocidos drinking games; de ahí comenzamos con yo nunca he, y entre varías preguntas salió una que me llamo la atención, la pregunta fue la siguiente: "Eu nunca fume maconha", o sea "Yo nunca he fumado marihuana", yo no tomé porque nunca lo he hecho y no me interesa. El todo, es que cuando no tomé fue una sorpresa para ellos, ya que la gran mayoría lo habían hecho, comenzaron a decir "Pero, si tu eres Colombiano" y entre otras cosas que tristemente estoy acostumbrado a lidiar, por el hecho de ser Colombiano.

Llegué a Colombia hace ya casi cuatro días atrás con un poco de nerviosismo ya que principalmente venía para pedir una visa, un acto que naturalmente le puede generar nerviosos a un colombiano, así uno no debe nada; a eso le puedo sumar que mi cabeza estaba medio aturdida, pues salir de un mundo netamente portugués y volver al español de Colombia es medio abrumador, en fin, lo que les quiero contar es sobre la televisión.

Es increíble como el narcotrafico, la prostitución, trata de blancas y demás horrores de nuestra sociedad han sido iconizados en Colombia y hasta llegar a quererlos, o sino escuchen cómo una mujer logra describir lo interesante y buen mozo que fue Marlon Moreno en El Capo, o cómo un hombre recuerda a Maria Adelaida Puerta en Sin Tetas No Hay Paraiso, o como La Perris en el Capo. Inaudito, no les parece?

Se nos olvido que en una época nos daba miedo viajar, que teníamos miedo real, que los malos eran más, y que vivíamos en una incertidumbre que no nos dejaba progresar.

Muchas cosas han cambiado en Colombia, so testigo de eso y por eso cuando me preguntan si he fumado marihuana o si he consumido alguna droga, con toda la seguridad del caso respondo no, porque detrás de esas marihuana que alguien esta fumando pasaron muchos corruptos, muertos, secuestradores y demás. Hasta que deje de existir consumidores ese negocio no se va acabar, simple, oferta y demanda.

Todo esto lo escribo para hacer una fuerte crítica a usted, que aún cree que cuando un canal de Colombia pasa un comercial diciendo, "esto un mensaje de responsabilidad social del Canal X," eso realmente es una burla, porque no creo que uno sea socialmente responsable cuando dice: "nuestras mega producciones", las cuales son las que exportamos y Oh! Sorpresa! Si!, son de narcotrafico, drogas y demás, así que si usted algún día tiene la oportunidad de interactuar con alguien de otro país y le pregunta o lo asocia con drogas, no lo juzgue, nosotros mismos seguimos patrocinandonos así.

Solo les recuerdo que la mejor telenovela del mundo ha sido colombiana y batió records en muchos paises. A usted, le pregunto, en qué momento se nos olvido Betty la fea, y nos empezó a gustar La Mariposa?.. pobre Maria Adelaida ya será un icono en estos temas.

Oferta y demanda, si usted le gusta, y le da rating, es exitoso!.

You need to feel it, to think aboutnaturally, there's not an special moment, and that's why always the best ideasthat came to my mind were when actually I was doing one thing, THINKING!, SoI'd like challenge you to dare to THINK, and I'm not being disrespectful, Ijust want to invite you to stop the autopilot and invest at least one minute inyour day for get inspired, who knows, maybe in that second your life willchange completely.

Yes, Get Up Stand Up, actually is the way how I summarize 2011 for me.

Almost one year ago, I was looking for new paths, do you remember?, well If you don't you can check a couple post ago, anyways, the point is, I was aiming to Ireland, trying somehow to go to Mexico and at the end I finish in Brazil, hahaha, a little bit lost, but I was consequence because of my over self-confidence, nevertheless, let me show you what happens.

I began my year not in the best way, I just remember that I was really lost in the middle of nowhere... nice!.. applying like crazy to places where I could not get a chance..again the life was telling me, please learn to be patient, PLEASE!. Then, suddenly something really special happened, I remembered my passion for one country, one really special for me, Brazil, then the other journey began! full of fears and confidence at the same time I decided to apply and guess what, I'm nowadays MCVP TM of AIESEC in Brazil.

I remember december 2010 saying to myself, next year will be my year for travel! and it was! look, Puerto Rico March, Brazil May, Kenya Aug and the Netherlands Nov, and many other travels within Colombia and Brazil, I'd say I never stopped at home, or at least I always had my luggage 50% done always hahaha.

But this post is get up and stand up, right? well let me share a couple moments which made my 2011.

I always sold international experiences since I joined AIESEC, but live one, that's other fairy tale. I came to Brazil with 1% of portuguese understanding, it means, dependency, a lot indeed. I began and it was difficult, but actually the worst part was when I was in my third week and my boss told me: "Gato we are going to have a meeting with a external, but the issue is, she doesn't speak english", I said: "Ok", but it was not that easy, I came to the meeting and see everyone laughing, expressing their ideas and I.. I was alone in the middle of everyone, I got up and I went to the bathroom, then I cried.. why.. frustration, impotency, well.. I can't describe it very well.. in that moment I decided to learn more.

Now you imagine, you are in the middle of one of the biggest conferences in the AIESEC network, CONADE in Brazil with around 500 people, and yes, you have to deliver a session to all that people about one tricky topic, but your level of portuguese is like 50%, result.. chaos!. I began the session, I explained the session, the instructions all in english, but suddenly all people began to say: "I don't understand", good, it could be normal I tough, but in the third time it wasn't, I was like, holly shit (sorry), I was desperate and couple meters from me was my boss, and he told me, speak portuguese, I told him, I don't know, the he said, yes, you do! and do it now, in that moment I turned my mind to a portuguese world and it was the moment where everyone began to understand. Now writing down this, is funny, but believe me when I say, it was SCARY!.

Have you ever feel dumb? when I began my year I was feeling like this because I couldn't be elected as MCP in Colombia, I was really frustrated because of that, but look I was decided to get out of AIESEC, then I began to look for scholarships, and was a really big pleasure to realized myself about two things. The first one is: could be good If you get out of the AIESEC bubble at least once! and the second one. I remembered how good I was in the university and the regular smart guy how I was always. Ho could I forgot that.. anyways, please don't think bad about me, my point is that you can easy forget the essence of yourself, that's why from that moment I decided to eliminate labels from my life.

After the situation above. what is your opinion If in my mind was the idea of apply again to MCP.. haha.. many people told me don't do that!, I went to the Netherlands and there I just finished to make my decision, I applied again to MCP for AIESEC in Colombia, and well, there was just a couple points, there were seven people applying, I was just online because I was also in national conference in Brazil and finally the election process was kind of late, hahaha. seriously I was really afraid, anyways, something that I learned when I was elected for MC in Brazil was, If something is going to be for you, no matter what happens will be yours! and it was how finally I was elected in Colombia as MCP for the next term, you can not imagine how happy I am, because I learned: Sometimes could be obsesion, sometimes could naivety, but it doesn't matter how big your dreams are, at the end you have to try a uncountable times for make real.

Get Up Stand Up. A new person being more aware of his family, his friends, his future, being more responsible with himself, open to new cultures, with friends in more countries, with an imagination without borders but more sure and accurate about my destiny, I just have to say 2012 let it play! I really want to say what is my life bringing to me.

I was talking with my MC friends here in the house about the experience in Kenya and I just realized, I have not posted about my experience in Kenya!, yeah, I don't know why but I forgot it. There are many things to say about this trip, however I want summarize it in a couple words, colorful, magical, risky, diverse and full of contrasts.

Africa as a continent is a wonderful land, you can see many contrasts in colors, accents and food. However you can see how Europe has influence in sports, food, clothes and manners. When I was in South Africa, just in the airport I could see how is an international airport after a soccer world cup, it means huge and empty, also full of special disccounts with remains of evnet's merchandising.

Kenya. When I got into the immigration was really funny the fact of get there and ask for the visa meanwhile they are writing down your name in your passport over its visa, weird; then, the immigration guy just wasked me about soccer in my country and he began to say, pibe, pibe, higuita, higuita, jum, you can imagine my face a how I know a lot about futbol I just smiled and said yeah sir.

Traffic in Kenya is the hell, because there's these "Matatu" which are small vans with music like reggueaton but with the MAX MAX volume ever, you can not even talk. I don't know how it works, the point is, the matatus are not legal. So when you are stucked in the traffict some importants things can happen, for example a huge bird, trust huge!, like one meter wings and big pbeak, kind of scary. In the other hand you can see many street workers, selling their products ans also beggars, nothing far from realyty in many countries.

I stayed firt days in a hostel, and it was good, I mean, it was not confortable at all but I felt safe at least.Then things began to turn kind of difficult. We moved to the venue, actually an university where the conference took place and it was not bad, I had right expectations about the place, so easy. Nevertheless, things began to got challenging. food was not good, not hot water, it means me angry.. by 9 days, I know.

IC was good, networking, many people, new ideas, new friends, more houses around the world and new insghts about many things which is for me why an International Congress matters.

After the congress I was planning to go to the beach, I wanted so bad, but thanks to Jonathan we changed all plans and, maybe, who knows, things happen; that day when he changed everything and we decided to go to the safari, a bus full of AIESECers crashed, two people were really bad, one of them, Elmer, the president of AIESEC in Bolivia passed away and other lady was really bad. I was close to go, you can not imagine.

I went to a real safari, I saw lions, giraffes, hippos, rhinos, baboons, leopards, elephants, crocodiles and ostriches. This is something that we have to do it once in our lives, but believe me If you can not with high emotions and chellenges all time, you should not go.

There's another face, there's a lot poverty and honestly I was thinking many times this, we were really close to Somalia where one of the biggest ravenous hunger was happening, and is still happening, and we didn't discuss about this things, kind of paradoxical, global youth leadership together discussing about what?. just for self-reflection.

I just want to finish saying this, maybe for me Kenya was not the paradise, but it helps me to understand how global we are, at least, I'm selling everyday opportunuties for youth to go abroad and visit places like this, but at the end I can say that this is needed If you want to think beyond of your borders. I'm looking forward visit more places.

When I joinedAIESEC I was studying my third year of engineering and I was really close to muchtechnical stuff, however during my team member experience I have the chance oflive three different, impactful and powerful moments.

I learned tosale, manage pressure and improve my personal speech. All this happened when Iwas coming back from my exchange and I decided to explore something where I wasnot felling really confortable; I took my out of my comfort zone. I could getin contact people from many countries, as China, India and Brazil, with mylocal projects about education and technology. Something important was the factof networking through my sales activities, because at the end of this Irealized that I was being part of other organizations because of my job withthem.

I opened my horizonsto one global region. In AIESEC we had the opportunity of join many teams andlive several experiences, that’s why, once I was just checking the newsletterand I saw something really interest, “Financial Sustainability Task Force forIberoamerica”, since I’m really passionate about sustainability I just decidedto apply and challenge myself, and that´s how I made it. I learned about crosscountry management, understanding about many countries, how as organization wecan manage finances and also how work virtually with people from 5 differentcountries. It was just incredible.

Final but notleast, being part of a national board I had to deliver an innovation processesin marketing segmentation, where I could understand way more how we could approachthe national market and also how it was connected with all organization. Somethingawesome was the opportunity to interact with experts in this topic and exchangeknowledge, ideas and concepts. I still have many presentations recorded becauseI know in the future they will be really useful.

At the end, I could realize how these differentexperiences help me a lot!, nowadays I’m a professional in industrialengineering with an open perspective about how all organizations interactinside and outside of them, also a strong network around the world and definitelymy leadership is so much more stronger and clear because of the way of how I learnedto be a key team member in my life.

Successful living

Couple months ago, as you know, I was trying to find a "new" path, but, maybe that one was not totally new; I came to Brazil, and the first months were not really easy, especially because being the cultures between Colombia and Brazil very similar, there are few details making difference in your day by day. In othere words I overcame my fears about the exchange experience and began to do that, experience.

Well, that's the way it is. However, I just want share with you my feelings after my first quarter being vicepresident in the best AIESEC country in world. (Sorry If you can't understand AIESEC language, I can help you anytime).

When I was in Kenya, and I promise I'm going to post about my experience there, AIESEC in Brazil won the best country in network because of its performance last MC term, so, in other words, Gato you should continue with this amazing trend in the country, but hold on, yes yes, hold a sec, let's ground my position, Colombian, difficult transition, so much info at the same time, 33 entities, and the best part.. NOT PORTUGUESE SPEAKER... #fail!... I changed that.. #opportunitie.Yes, it can sound like Oh yeah! big smile and happy meal, but not I just began to put so much effort in dicover and develop a lot things in the country, face my fears and overcome them with brave.

The point is, this organization matters, at least for me, and I want to say thank you to four people, special people, who support me a lot during this three months of hard work and tracking, they are my team, Lino, Carol, Ivan y Leonam; you can not imagine how proud and confidence I am about them, they are not just my team, I'd say we are a team of friends and becuase of them a lot of this success just came.

Yesterday we closed being top 1, top 1 in TMP, top 1 in TLP and top 1 in Full XPs, and yes, maybe this is just numbers but for me it has a different meaning, it's showing me the power and impact created for the commitment, and also becuase I changed a simple word in my mind, opportunity.

This is the first chapter of four ones, this one have been wrote, let's go for the other ones. Congratulations and continue successful living.

Obrigado @Campinas.

Working in the virtual team of AIESEC Campinas was an experience that will certainly make a difference in my ability to lead. Just the fact to participate in an exchange by AIESEC is enough to develop many important points as a pro activity and maturation and professional, since the exchange is necessary to work in a team constructive. In addition to sharing my cultural and professional experience provided by the project in which I enrolled in the city of Shanghai, even I had the opportunity to participate as a virtual team leader, who was in the case formed by more three people who were in Campinas.

The function of my time was basically to facilitate exchanges between people Campinas and Shanghai. As a leader and mediator, my job was to talk with people responsible for projects in Shanghai and to articulate for EPs of Campinas. After getting projects in Shanghai, the team in Campinas made marketing materials using the project data. Beyond addition, contacts between LCs were changed to facilitate communication when necessary. It was a very good experience because we can fulfill the goal without problems and I personally had the opportunity to do more friendships.

Cerrar un capítulo de mi vida.

Hace un año más o menos estaba terminado mi práctica y haciendo la transición con el MC KISS virtualmete, junto a Camila, la brasileña que trabajó conmigo. Tenía muchas ganas de estar presencialmente pero como siempre, me toca "perderme" las transiciones, al final todo salió bien. Ahora estoy acá en la oficina de AIESEC en Brasil cerrando por fin uno de mis capítulos preferidos de mi vida hasta ahora, ser MC en Colombia, ser MC LIVE.

De la experiencia MC puedo decir muchas cosas pero quiero resaltar unas.

1. CONOCÍ CASI TODO EL PAÍS. En todas las ciudades donde está AIESEC fui. Todo empezó en Santa Marta, siguiendo por muchas más, Bucaramanga, Barranquilla, Ibague, Medellín, Armenia, Manizales, Cali, Valledupar, Monteria, Cartagena, Pereira y por supuesto Bogotá. Pero bueno croe que me disfruté el paseo como dicen. Eso solo me mostró que uno no se puede ir del país sin conocer primero lo de uno y comer, bailar y disfrutar de los mil y un acentos que se me pegaban cada vez que viajaba.

2. LA GENTE DE COLOMBIA. De los Colombianos pueden decir lo que quieran, pero los AIESECos Colombianos, sabemos como vivir AIESEC y pasarla bien. En cada visita, evento,conferencia y zonalito, puedo decir que una de las mejores cosas de ser MC fue haber podido compartir sentimientos, puntos de vista, discusiones, etc. Esto hace que al final de cuentas salga uno sintiendo que hay gente muy preparada y comprometida para seguir construyendo AIESEC durante un largo tiempo, y lo más importante seguir construyendo cambios en Colombia.

3. EXPERIENCIA INTERNACIONAL. Ir a Argentina y a Puerto Rico representando a Colombia, es una de las cosas que no se pueden explicar. Un día estaba en frente de mi computador y me pregunte a mismo, se va quedar sin representar a Colombia alguna vez en un global village fuera de Colombia? y me dije, NO!, salí a comprar el pin para al visa y todo los papeles, pero solo puedo decir algo, NO me arrepiento de NADA!, pude demostrarme que puedo hacer muchas cosas y que el dinero de nuevo no puede ser la excusa para perseguir mis sueños. Buenos Aires y San Juan, volverá algún día hay amigos que nunca olvidaré ahí.

4. CONOCERME MUCHISIMO MAS. Para los que estaban cerca de mi saben cuanto aprendí y me esmeré día a día para ser ese profesional al que le confiaron la tarea de crear una nueva área, y debo confesar, no fue fácil. Para resumir esto les digo, EL CAMBIO REQUIERE TIEMPO Y CONVICCIÓN, PACIENCIA EN DÍA A DÍA, SER AVECES SOBERBIO Y TERCO, pero sobretodo SABER ESCUCHAR. Además, el balance sigue siendo algo por trabajar, así suene un poco egoísta, pero uno no se puede olvidar de uno.

5. UNA EXPERIENCIA REAL DE EQUIPO. Hay personas muy cercanas a mi y saben lo problemático que me puedo volver cuando siento que no tengo a una figura de liderazgo fuerte, sin embargo en este equipo conté con la fortuna de tener uno de mis mejores líderes y creo que el mejor hasta ahora, pero eso no hubiera sido posible sin no hubiera tenido a un equipo tan tan bueno como lo pudo ser el MCLIVE, y no es por tirarnos flores pero equipos como este no habían estando en AIESEC en Colombia hace muchos años, de verdad, se notaba las ganas y felicidad de sacar un país adelante, y lo puedo decir con la entera disposición, hicimos historia, o sino, miren los números y hablamos.

6. LIDERAR DESDE LEJOS. Creo que el reto más grande pero lo que más me motivo siempre fue poder estar desde lejos tan cerca de cada una de las personas que tuve la oportunidad de liderar, mi NST, mis Coachees, OCs y lo más importantes, mis VPs. No tengo palabras para decirles, de verdad ustedes muchas veces eran la compañía que necesitaba para poder seguir adelante y no cansarme de estar detrás como un papá enseñándoles, porque además siempre sentía que debía aprender más y más para liderarnos y nunca quedarme corto. Y sí, soy un ingeniero industrial que aprendió a ser comunicador y mercadologo, mucho de esto sino la mayoría es por ustedes.

David, gracias! mil gracias! muchos de los cambios que siguen en AIESEC en Colombia son gracias a ti. Randy tu sigues con el chuzo y no pudo quedar en mejores manos, pequeño saltamontes. Andrew, gracias por seguir aprendiendo y lograr mucho de lo que planeamos juntos. Ustedes tres tienen gran parte de mi legado.

Mis VPs del área más qué?, ¡si!,¡esos! gracias por hacer sentir orgulloso, tanto los del 2010 como los del 2011, fue todo un honor, reto y aprendizaje poder sentirme respaldado por ustedes. A seguir adelante y no olviden que por acá hay un amigo también.

Porqué! por qué me voy! qué se va ir a hacer! así y mas preguntas de mis familiares porque los de AIESEC si entienden qué significa lo que voy a decir.

Para los externos: Me voy a liderar los procesos de recursos humanos de AIESEC en el Brasil con más de 3000 voluntarios en 32 seccionales de todo el país.

Para los AIESECos: Me voy a hacer MCVP TM de AIESEC en Brasil! con uno de los TOP3 del mundo! chevere no?

Después de vivir 7 años y medio en Bogotá de nuevo me voy a recorrer el mundo, la razón real por la cual me uní a AIESEC, así que mundo si nos vemos por ahí bienvenidos a conocer conmigo.

Have you ever been lost?, well.. I have been. I believe me when I say: it's painful but necesary.

January and February were terrible months for me, I was in a bubble, connected with myself, living in a dream but I had to stop to dream and begin to live... my life was in the middle of nowhere.. I mean, I had my family, my soul mate and me, everyone trusting in me and sharing my vision of nothing, isn't it ridiculous?

My big friend Lucia Torres, maybe one of the persons that you say: What a #$% stunning woman in the world, wrote me in one post before about what happend when you don't get what you want but you get what you need. life is wize. She left me the next video.

So, I was wrong, she wished me a leadership experience, and you know what I'm grateful, dots are only connected backwards.

I have another chance to live my dreams and live them in the earth, I'll be begining another experience, actually the most powerfull, the experience that made me join AIESEC, I'll be living in other country, leading AIESEC, spreading AIESEC and Living as international AIESECer. AIESEC is my first choice in my life and all these five years worth them. I will live a leadership experience.

Don't stop believing even if you are lost, you will only get what you need, be patient, everything is going to be alright.

Wondering Wondering... Dreaming

Yeah! that's the point, I have been wondering about many many things in my life.

Almost one year ago I wrote about the experience of run the processes of be MC, and look, I'm here doing all the things that I love!, I support people, I believe in social works and I make real everyday a strong organizational vision. But, I'm in the same position again, showing toughs and vision of something that I quite believe, not in marketing and communication, this time it's about all AIESEC in Colombia, what a Challenge, isn't it?

Someone asked me yesterday about how do I feel running the process with two of my big friends?.. I said... eh... honestly, I was speechless.. I just tough, this is the first time that I have a huge mix of feelings, because you are in a competition, you are looking for the same target and we are in the path of each; this is really difficult.

In the other hand, I understood again why I believe in this organization, and it is because AIESEC allows clear and clean way of democracy. Yeah, I'm running for the same position, but you know what, this organization is so wise that make friends run processes as friends, that's why I feel challenge but quite.

There are just 9 days left for finish the process, whatever the decision, I will face my future with encourage and confidence about my values and dreams, because I can't stop to do it, I can stop to dream.

Las experiencias más fuertes de mi vida, alegrías, tristezas, descepciones, sueños, ideales, academia, entre otro millar de aprendizajes y sensasiones me deja hoy el terminar mi ciclo para prepararme como Ingeniero Industrial.

Hace 6 años y medio, empezó este sueño y ustedes se preguntarán por qué no 5, bueno la respuesta es bastante larga. En Villavicencio finalizando el 2003 mi papá me preguntaba, pero qué es ingeniería industrial y yo le repsondiá, papá es una administración como con título de ingeniero y algo de procesos, bastante equivocado estaba. Para los que me conoces saben los perseverante que soy cuando algo se me mete a la cabeza, y esa vez era muy simple, Yo no me voy a quedar en Villavicencio a estudiar.

Mi confidente y amiga, mi hermana me hizo el cuarto para volarme a Bogotá y hacer el papeleo para presentarme a la Escuela, aún tengo el mapa que me hizo diciendome qué tenía que hacer cuando me bajara en le portal del Tunal y llegar al portal del Norte para luego llegar a la Escuela. Finalmente lo conseguí fui admitido en la Escuela.

Mi papá, físico y matemático de profesión, tenía metido en su cabeza que tenía que estudiar en una universidad pública como él lo había hecho, pero sinceramente yo sabía que no lo iba a hacer, y así fue; resultados de la Nacional negativo, UIS negativo, Distrital negativo, cara de mi papá no tiene precio. Luego de tener lo esperado le dije a mi papá no pasé ninguna pública, pero sí a esta. Es así como después de una hora termino cediendo con la condición de que me presentara luego a otra pública,y así lo hice pero la verdad nunca sucedió y eso no quiere decir que fuera bruto, pero un problema fuerte de ansiedad y la ganas de no embarrarla hacían que realmente nunca pudiera concentrarme dando como resultado seguir en la Escuela.

Con el ego en las nubes llegué a la Escuela, el mejor bachiller de mi colegio, en una universidad llena de personas que me hicieron poner los pies en la tierra demostrándome que sinceramente la academia no lo es todo y colocándome en duda conmigo acerca de mis verdaderos intereses.

Qué hice en la universidad. Me metí a cuanto grupo estudiantil existía, estuve en grupo de danzas, asistí a cuanta conferencia había, no me perdía los cuenteros y me la pasaba metido en la biblioteca leyendo el periódico o para dormir un rato "mientras estudiaba". Sin Bienestar Universitario me hubiera vuelto loco y la verdad mas de una vez que estaba que me moría de mis típicas gripas, riñitis y laringitis, donde el Doc Alexander ya me conocía y me saludaba como y ahora qué tienes.

Siendo muy objetivo voy a dar una descripción de la Escuela Colombiana de Ingeniería. La Escuela es un continuo incesto de conocimiento ya que es una "rosca" desde todos los aspectos, muy pocos académicos son foráneos de la Universidad, haciendo que los puntos de vista sean muy reducidos y lo peor es que llevar la contraria asegura un enemigo. Muy lamentable el manejo y ejecución del reglamento donde solo se hacia efectivo para realizar castigos por copia. Intransigentes, obstinados y egocentristas, así son la mayoría de docentes de la Escuela. Administrativamente todo iba mejorando con dos personas en quienes creí que venía el cambio, el ingeniero Blanco y el ingeniero Javier Botero, pero que lamentablemente retiraron, por razones no muy buenas que habían en los rumores de pasillo. Volvería a estudiar en la Escuela? definitivamente no. Un día en mi último año de estudio un docente llamado Ingeniero insulto sutilmente a un compañero por su estatura haciendo burla de esto y yo tuve que quedarme callado porque si decía algo podía perder la materia, eso no lo vuelvo a repetir en la vida.

No todo fue malo, realmente en esa universidad pude conocer la organización que me cambió la vida, AIESEC, conocí profesores espectaculares, el profe Fonseca, el de Calidad (no me acuerdo el nombre) Maria Ignacia, Mi super Profe César Leal, Angelica Sarmiento, Soni, Nicolas y el Ingeniero Sarmiento. Amigos importantes, Daniel, Puentes, Alejito, Mafe, Clau, Dianis, Dianita, Juli., Susi , Cami Najar entre muchos mas que me ayudaron mucho. Además de los celachos con quienes tomaba tinto, Glori, Soni, Esperancita y Estefani quienes siempre me ayudaban con mil cosas.

Hoy a un día de terminar uno de los ciclos más grandes y productivos de mi vida, puedo decir que de ese mix de situaciones y experiencias queda un Ingeniero Industrial que no tiene énfasis en producción como lo hace la Escuela, sino tiene énfasis en su rol dentro de la sociedad como lo acepte cuando recibí mi primer día siendo estudiante en los principios de la Escuela, un Ingeniero Industrial con una fuerte educación en lo que siempre me gusto, el mercadeo, la calidad, la administración, manejo de proyectos y finalmente, así la Escuela no tenga ni idea de eso, en desarrollo sostenible, donde seguiré mis pasos como profesional.

Gracias Escuela Colombiana de Ingeniería por mostrarme el mundo real. Ahora sí vamos para el Grado.

I was going to my home tonight and I had my mind in other universe, asking myself about the destiny..yeah, and I know that it could be a cliche, I mean, everyone always use this word as resignation when something at the end just doesn´t work., but honestly today for me the only answer is destiny.

How you know, I'm part of the MC Live, one of the most challenging team ever, every single person in this team is really high talented, is amaizing, I have learned a lot. But I want point out about IC (AIESEC International Congress) it was a big or huge!! dream for me!, in all my AIESEC carreer I couldn't go to any international conference, because always I had many issues, university, work, intership, money, etc etc.

I'm the kind of person who don't force the things, If something is for me IS for me. I began to do things since april more and less, but I honestly when I started MC term was more difficult. In july and Aug I went to everything, banks, friends, partners, family, AIESECers, etc, etc, and etc.. But I couldn't find a way to India.

Right now I'm here in Bogota, enjoying my time, and figuring out my mind, At the endeverything up and down, the destiny is plotting something to me :)... The first surprise is here :).

Cómo uno puede confiar en alguien tan rápido? bueno existen varias razones por las cuales una persona puede ser muy abierta y clara, la mayoría de las veces simplemente uno siente algo, algo que uno no puede describir pero que deja la puerta abierta o cerrada para seguir entablando algún tipo de relación con esa persona.

Desde que dejamos nuestro instinto animal y adoptamos la razón en nuestra mente para darnos cuenta que para tenerla de verdad falta mucho, y que el concepto de razón va ligado muy de la mano con nuestra educación en el hogar, escuela, amigos, entre otros ámbitos que dejan semillas en nuestro cerebro.

Una sola imagen no es suficiente, es claro buscar, leer todo el tiempo las personas, para descubrir que no se debe ver con el corazón sino con la mente y que cuando se clarifican las cosas, desde el pasado presente y futuro, se logrará tener una fuerte y coherente persona al lado.

Tiempo se necesita, instinto necesario, racionabilidad presente y escudos para pasar o blindarse de las malas personas.

I want begin this post remembering the last one, it was ending 2009 and being member of AIESEC in Colombia national board for 2010.2011 and also in Villavicencion with my family enjoying good times. After all, I began 2010 with a huge CHANGE attitude in my life, in few words spent more time in my family, friends and I.

This is my place of work :P

I working now!, I'm doing my internship at Pollo Andino S.A., it could sounds funny!, I understand you I though the same!!!, but after almost three months here, I can say, this is excellent, I am doing all that I want, I'm working in marketing and long term strategic planning, it can't be better.

I must confess, it isn´t nice to be at one place all day long, you know I hate monotony, but one BIG conclusion to my LIFE, I won't spend my life in a desk!!!... From the other side, Obec was a really difficult, because I love to discuss ideas and points of view but time is money!! sometime I just have obec.

I am working with Santiago, he is one of my close friends from my U :P.

Now, guess what I did with my first pay check?.... I bought Coldplay concert ticket, isn't it great!!!??

A Wish for Leaders…

I sincerely wish you will have the experience of thinking up a new idea, planning it, organizing it, and following it to completion, and then have it magnificently successful. I also hope you’ll go through the same process and have something “bomb out.”

2009 finally ends! WHAT A YEAR!

I'm here in my hometown, Villavicencio, finishing my year and making a really good balance about the year that is closer to end, in fact in one day!.

Well, if you were following me, you know that this year was a huge challenge, maybe it was the most excited year ever at my 22 years of life, it was a roller coaster of felling every day.

I can remember January 2009 when I setmy priorities, University, I must to finish all my subjects and get ready for my internship, it meant don't stop to study all year long; the second one, AIESEC, I had been elected as LCP and I had to leave my LC in the top, and third one was get money!. The priorities don't mean be far from my family and my friends, on the contrary they were pillars in my day by day.

About the University, I must to be very honest and open to you, it was hard, so hard, because I couldn't stop, I took subjects from the top to the bottom, also in summer vacations I was in the university!, but just one bad thing, I had to cancel one in the second semester for my health.

Being really objective, every time and every moment I'm more disappointed with my university (Escuela Colombiana de Ingeniería Julio Garavito), is incredible how many incoherences can do one institution, beginning with the teachers until the administrative personal, they lived in a bubble, it's like one world far way from the minimum of respect and objective for students, it's so sad, but it's true, I tried all my career to be part of the solutions, but I couldn't the bureaucracy inside is huge and the only Rector who began excellent initiatives and new changes, was quick, guess what.. for the bureaucracy... it can sounds like revolutionary but it's true.

AIESEC, What a year!, Juank, Moni, Dave, Puka, Jenny and Anak, with all AIESEC Javeriana, they gave me the best year of my life, We leave so many things inside the LC, I just can say thank you!. Many moments were really difficult but the happiness is invaluable, many recognitions and being top3 AIESEC in Colombia LCs is the awards for all the work did it.

I worked this year, it was a little bit frustrated, I just can say, TOO EASY FOR BE REAL, and, CHECK YOUR JD YOU WILL GET MONEY FOR THAT.

I was a little far from my family, I really miss soo much my grand mom and my ant, but I'm sure about that they are so happy for my achievements and from the sky they are supporting me. My dad, my mom, my sister and my brothers I will be more focus on you, I promise it.

It was 2009, I will never forget it.

El 30 de octubre, se sintió el primer temblor de mi voz y el agua en mis ojos al ver que ya el sábado 7 de noviembre elegiré a mi nuevo sucesor. Pero este sentimiento es de gratitud por todas las cosas que los maravillosos pinguinos me han dado.

Quiero compartirles las palabras del LC para otorgarme el título de SUPER LCP. :)

En nombre de la comunidad AIESEC Javeriana les ofrezco la más cordial y fraternal bienvenida a este acto de exaltación que hoy brindamos a nuestro compañero Esteban a quien cariñosamente le conocemos como el Gato, por la meritoria labor que con entusiasmo, compromiso y calidez ha desempeñado durante su periodo en la presidencia.

En representación de toda la membrecía de AIESEC Javeriana, queremos manifestarle nuestros sentimientos de gratitud y simpatía, que siempre le profesaremos por el desempeño que con tesón, dedicación, responsabilidad, optimismo, vocación de servicio y un alto contenido de liderazgo, ha ejercido la presidencia; impregnándonos de los valores de respeto, entusiasmo, amistad, aprecio, compañerismo y muchos deseos de superación, los cuales en adelante serán de gran valor en nuestro desarrollo personal y profesional.

Finalmente, los miembros del grupo AIESEC Javeriana, de corazón presentamos al GATO, un profundo e infinito agradecimiento por su apoyo indeclinable hacia esta comunidad, por su trabajo y dedicación como ser humano que ama la vida, y comparte con las personas bajo el convencimiento del poder que puede tener y el cambio que puede lograr un líder en proceso de crecimiento y creación, como desde la presidencia nos lo ha demostrado y con el que esperamos seguir contando dentro de la organización; no sin antes hacerle saber que hoy lamentamos mucho no haberlo colmado de suficientes litros de helado de todas las veces que lo hicimos enojar por nuestras constantes llegadas tardes… pero en fin, tendremos muchos encuentros en los que podamos compartir varios helados de diferentes sabores y con pepitas de colores. Yes!, almost more than one month ago I did´t write about the experience, but in this moment are happening a lot things and I'd like to share some thoughts about the situation.

One peak of pressure in a couple of words is the situation, and look, when we are striving for finish our dreams is really hard to connect the people o the same goal.

Some toughs about the pressure:

1. When you are demanding more effectiveness is when the people can make more mistakes.

2. However, Delegate and more more more more tracking is vital for a good processes health

3. Time is a Karma, Karma is bitch.

4. I love my role, I don't want it goes away.

5. Every day, Every member, Every penguin :)

I decided to be a Life-changer person when I see the impact that my person can allows to the people, to my world.

Think global is not just think in the environment, think global is act everyday and everywhere with yourself.

I'm not a doctor, I'm not God, but I can save lives, I'm a leader, who cares the people lives, because it is the only way, THE ONLY ONE , for achieve any change that our World wants.

So, what is the difference with a Hospital?.. Nothing at the end. Everyone save lives.

I know I know, I'm now kind of sentimental because the end is closer.. I must to confess in one time I was expecting to soon the end, but when you feel over your head, believe me is hard and difficult to describe how many feelings I can feel.

Just one word! AMAIZING!!... 90 members in just one place!!! with for 4 externals teaching to oldies, a lovely MC coach and a Latin-Europe CHAIR!!! what else can you expect? ah!?

Fullfiled mission!!! for the incredulous ones, We could make three different agendas!!!! at the same time we could made a zonalito in august and now we can manage a LC with more than 100 people!!!

Nowwww..... look the LC already have members, EPs, Projects and TNs!!!!

Let's achieve!!!! our goals!!!! and

Long post... yeah but full of good memories, check it out.

Medellin!

I just love this city, there are many friends, places, flavors & feeling that I enjoy evertime that I go to Medellin.

In this time I was in shock with the "Cultura Metro", you know, that is like a brainwash for each person in the city, is incredible!!!!... you have songs about Medellin, and other many things that make you remember that is YOUR city, that's so good, we need some of the ownership of them in Bogotá.

I was in MetroCable!, then I visited the España Library, there are many spaces for young people, it was so excited because the place where was built is a very poor sector of the city, however, the people have a choice for learn and enjoy trough the knowledge. There is also a beautiful view of the city.

Presidents Meeting (PM)

I was expecting this moment many months ago, because it was the chance to build a new AIESEC in Colombia, new horizons and new ways to deliver the organization to the members. I must to confess the dynamic was not easy, and the challenge for the meeting was learn to listen!! shooot sometimes we were stuck many moments but at the end we could :P.

What a challenge conference for me, believe me, it's not free to be sick in this moment, because beside the pride of be LCP from my AIESEC Javeriana, there is a human! jajaja.. but I just can tell you: It worth it!!! yes!, because my penguins are now more connected to the organization, they are understanding the relevance of AIESEC in them lives and also its roles in the LC.

One of the most mystic times of the conference was the MC takeover... also was really funny... because you can imagine 17 presidents trying to get in order more of 300 people in two lines doing a spiral... yeah crazy!.. but we did it!. Here is a picture in the end of the spiral where the LCPs and the MC were. There is also ONE super Penguin in the MC Macias! I soo proud of you!!

Well, I have to be honest, I was expecting one! :p, you know the work in the LC have been strong the last six months as you could see in one older post, but the night was great!!!!... you know.. I didn't know the appreciation that the MC did... the expecting time was like...

This LC has grown 100% in Xs in comparison with first semester 2008...

This LC has an absolute growth of 11 Xs

About six months in the top..

Woa!, it is really difficult, you know, almost 8 months ago I was totally wet from the top to the bottom, and now I just can say that I've learning every day.

In six months we could achieve this:

- 21 Xs
- End one PBoX
- International Cook Out!
- 1 Forum at Javeriana
- more than 25 LRs
- 5 Initiatives in incubation process.
- Finishing BoA
- LIM/ LTM in Melgar at CAFAM
- almost 110 Life-changing experiences!

Uff! as you can see, many many things!! and there are many more that I just can't list.

About the learning process I can tel you big lessons:

1. To listen: You can't not imagine, I didn't listen, and it's not just hear, is understand.

2. Don't fight: Yes!, you know, I'm tired about this, I thought about my behaviours and I can't loose control every time that I'm not desperate agree with something, I'm still working in my emotional intelligence.
3. Think fast, Act faster!: yes it is. Make decisions is a process that can make me stress out in occasions but, the real deal is about, how close am I to be right?... well.. how almost everything in engineering DEPENDS jajajaja.

I can say that I am proud of the people around me, they teach me every day, we are working harder. the goal is more people, more exchanges, more XPs, more standards for the next AIESEC Generation, as one colleague said, We just have less than 120 days and is counting down.

Let's break limits for give ALL ACCESS to the world.

In this moment I was thinking about the life in general and how the human behaviours can be totally unstable.

For example thinking in my own life, I can see that every sentimental relationship that you have can be a really mess just for one word or attitude or whatever, but besides that, the really answer is in the egoism, yes!, everyone, including me, are trying to define the perfect model for our needs, but just in few occasions can be very open to build together.

Where is the problem?, can be in the culture, can be in the childhood, i don't know, I just know that we can hurt, we can distrust, we can destroy the stability inside the hope.

the people plays are dangerous, there is when I think that the only difference between animals and humans is just the body and beliefs, because when you want and have the serious propose of hurt, you can achieve it.

Be careful, keep your stability, don't fall in people plays.

Algo de los Navarro.. mi Familia por parte de papá.

El semestre pasado tuve la oportunidad de leer un libro que se llama Colombia una nación a pesar de sí misma, de David Bushnell, un colombianista que como dijo mi profesor: "Malo, malo eso se trago de una paisa y se quedó acá", sin animo de ofender a la belleza femenina paisa. El punto es que ahí se hace un resumen de nuestra historia de pies a cabeza, pero para mi fue fascinante el hecho de saber que mi familia tuvo que vivir todo lo que decía aquel libro.

Cuando el mundo estaba terminando la segunda guerra mundial, irónicamente en Colombia empezaba una de las luchas que marcaría un manto rojo sobre toda la población de nuestro país. La muerte de Gaitán en el 48 fue detonador para mi familia, al igual que muchas, tuvieran que correr despavoridas por la guerra.

Mi Abuelo, Milciades Navarro Arboleda, era un señor ya, que se había casado con mi Abuela, Agueda Hernandez, ambos vivían en una de las dos haciendas que tenía la familia Navarro en el Tolima, llevaban una vida tranquila, él le encantaba el campo y ella disfrutaba de la enseñanza para niños.

Mi abuela me contó que entre los años 48 y 50, no lo recuerdo exactamente, tuvieron que irse de la hacienda corriendo, ya que una tarde había llegado un empleado avisándoles que tenían que irse de ahí porque esa noche vendrían a matarlos, a pesar de que ellos no eran ni liberales ni conservadores, la situación en aquellos días era como que si no se estaba de un bando se estaba en contra. Esa misma tarde mi abuela y abuelo junto con mi tía Esther y mi tío Julio salieron de las tierras de los Navarro y se dispusieron a coger el primer bus que saliera del Tolima. Después de varios días de viaje pararon en Arauca, había sido un viaje largo, descansaron y volvieron a arrancar, la violencia perseguía y asotaba todo el país. Finalmente llegaron la Meta, los llanos orientales, los cuales en esa época no se habían explotado mucho, la verdad era una región que a pesar de estar cerca Bogotá, no estaba muy desarrollada, pues Colombia siempre ha centralziado su desarrollo y poder en el centro del país.

La situación no fue fácil, después de tener todo en la hacienda y de ser personas de la región muy pudientes, me cuenta mi abuela que tuvieron que ir a tocar puertas en iglesias para pedir ayuda y así poder tener alimentos. Es increíble como la vida te puede cambiar de un momento a otro.

Finalmente, después de pasar por muchos lados, mi familia llegan a unas tierras que eran muy llano adentro; mi abuelo junto con otras personas empiezan a colonizarlas hasta convertirse en lo que se llama hoy el municipio de Lejanías, Meta. Luego mi abuela crea la primera escuela de allá, eso de la enseñanza se lleva en la venas, después mi tía Amparo, mi Tío julio y mi papá resultaron ser profesores.

Después de que se fundaran esas tierras, por fin la familia volvía tener por lo menos un horizonte, luego vinieron los otros dos hijos, mi tía Amparo y papá; sin embargo el salir a enfrentar el mundo fue un largo proceso para todos ellos.

Vinieron muchas más cosas, mi Abuelo ganó la lotería en una ocasión lo que permitió que las tierras que tenían fueran suyas por fin.

Es de verdad muy interesante ver cómo las raíces de las familias te pueden mostrar muchas cosas de tu país, la verdad el poder ver el empuje de ellos me llena de mucho orgullo, ya que por las raíces de este lado también esta mi bis abuela Éster Sanchez quien ayudó a fundar otro pueblo que se llama Roncesvalles en el Tolima, pero eso se los cuento en otro post.

This post can sounds a little nerd, but this week was full of challenges everywhere. Begining the week I was in the company GlassFarma Tech, where I had to do my practice of work study, doing many things with the employees I found the next words:

Let's not pretend that things will change if we keep doing the same things. A crisis can be a real blessing to any person, to any nation. For all crises bring progress.

Creativity is born from anguish, just like the day is born form the dark night. It's in crisis that inventive is born, as well as discoveries, and big strategies. Who overcomes crisis, overcomes himself, without getting overcome. Who blames his failure to a crisis neglects his own talent, and is more respectful to problems than to solutions. Incompetence is the true crisis.
The greatest inconvenience of people and nations is the laziness with which they attempt to find the solutions to their problems. There's no challenge without a crisis. Without challenges, life becomes a routine, a slow agony. There’s no merit without crisis. It's in the crisis where we can show the very best in us. Without a crisis, any wind becomes a tender touch. To speak about a crisis is to promote it. Not to speak about it is to exalt conformism. Let us work hard instead.

Let us stop, once and for all, the menacing crisis that represents the tragedy of not being willing to overcome it.

Wise words ah?.At the end of the week, I had to present many exams, sleep just few hours per day, eating fast food, any thinh¡g, however that friday I was in front of my desktop looking that I could finish all, but more of that, my local commitee could finish our big debt, finally we did it :). Our friend Einstein was rigth "A crisis can be a real blessing to any person, to any nation. For all crises bring progress."

We can found opportunities of development and growth in the worst situations.

Managing the new style

Well, as you could see in my last post, I'm very proud of my team and all AIESEC things, but in this moment I'm close to the 4:00 am doing a lot things of my College, that, honestly, don't like it. Why am I tired and stress out, because we were working for three days in one big work for the next week, and today, close to the 7.00 pm, we look back inside the work, and we found a huge error in the formulation, so, result, now we are acomplishing in less than 12 hours the work that we already had done. But, after all, ending in this moment the session, I can say, that stress makes me less productive than I am, and all that happend, fourtanately happend today and it doesn't in the final presentation.

Better actitud, go ahead, find solutions and don't stuck in the middle of the problems.

In this moment I'm really proud, and do you want to know why; well because after almost 3 months of execution all the general assembly decided to believe in a group of leaders that have been working hand by hand and day by day with Moni, Nico and me :).

Now, officially, Dave, Will, Annie and Juank are part of the ALL ACCESS TEAM, and it is really exciting becuase we have members, we hace big goals and we have big leaders.

The AIESEC Javeriana`s dream will be come true by all those leaders that are behind of many challenges trough their universities, work and family life.

.. y a qué jugamos?

Hace menos de una semana salí de mi apartamento y me dirigía a tomar un bus para el terminal de transporte porque viajaba para Villavicencio, en el transcurso de este viaje me encontré con una serie de cosas, que hoy hace que me pregunte a qué estamos jugando.

En el paradero del bus estaba llegando y paso un policía de transito sacando a una serie de taxis que se ubican en todo el frente de los paraderos de las 187, luego de sacarlos no pasaron ni 5 minutos cuando una fila entera de taxis de nuevo estaban enfrente de donde tendría que parar nuestro bus; resultado, tocó coger el bus en medio de la autopista norte porque los taxis no dejaban parar lo buses.

Cuando estaba en el bus ya de ida para el terminal, me encontré con otro evento muy desagradable, el ayudante del bus estaba cobrando el dinero y con su cara de ingenuidad me dice: "son $2000", entonces yo le respondí: "señor siempre me han cobrado $1500", me dijo finalmente: "es a $2000"; resultado, tuvimos que pagar $6000 por el transporte al terminal.

Ya cuando estábamos en la terminal no hubo ningún inconveniente hasta que nos toco dirigirnos a tomar ya el bus que nos llevaría a Villavicencio.

Dentro del bus nos encontramos con la sorpresa de puesto de dos personas con seis, si así es, estaban padres de familia con dos niños encima por lado y lado para poderlos sacar de viaje; bueno no juzgo el hecho de que por la situación económica no se pueda viajar mas cómodos, pero si es así lo mínimo es que controlen a sus hijos!.

continuando con el viaje, sucedió algo muy insólito que colmaron mi paciencia, fue literalmente la gota que reboso la copa. Íbamos ya casi llegando a Villavicencio, antes del último túnel, cuando un carro paro al bus, hicieron bajar al conductor y entró un personaje de estatura media con uniforme verde y nos dijo: "es realmente triste saber que hace menos de 15 días murieron 4 personas y quedaron mas de 10 heridas, por las infracciones que en toda la vía ha cometido buses como este"; un sentimiento de frustración y vergüenza me imbadio, me dige: bueno ojala le apliquen todos los comparendos que tengan. Luego de varios minutos subió a bus otro uniformado y nos dijo: ustedes sabían que este señor tiene mas de 17 infracciones de transito?, todos quedamos como en shock, pero yo quede perplejado fue con la actitud que después asumio la mayoría de los pasajeros, pues con frases como: "ese no es nuestro problema, yo necesito llegar", "rápido que tenemos afán", "y nosotros que íbamos a saber", algo contradictoria verdad?; en ese punto yo me levante y le pregunte al señor, por favor lo entendemos pero necesitamos una solución, lo peor fue que el señor me ignoró, me imagino que estaría exasperdado, pero pues al final dijo, quieren llegar vivos o muertos y se bajó. Finalmente después de 20 minutos de parada llegamos a Villavicencio y llegue a esta reflexión:

Donde están lo Colombianos que hablan de pasión, los responsables, los que se aman
y aman a los demás; cual es nuestro papel en la sociedad si no somos mínimamente
coherentes; salimos a marchar por personas para que salgan a ver que Colombia
sigue igual, que olvidamos nuestra identidad y rol como ciudadanos, a qué
estamos jugando con esta doble moral, a qué?

El último del año, el último en Español

Otro añito más de vida que se va y me deja varios aprendizajes, que, miercoles, lo hace uno pensar en lo que dice un famoso cantante de Colombia, "La Vida es un Ratico".

Enero

Empieza el año con la expectativa gigante de poder empezar a trabajar con mi equipo EB y de seguir en mi carrera despues de un 2007 muy inspirador.

Algunos Datos:

Se crea el High Performace Team

Se cierran 5 ventas

Empieza el primer año sin mi hermana.

Febrero

Empezamos con mi equipo ER a estructuar procesos y construir una nueva historia. La U un poco pesada para variar pero nada radical hasta ese momento.

Marzo

Newbies a la vista! la casa arreglada por dentro y con muchas expectativas de desarrallor a unos duros de ER. La U lanza su primera fuerza de guerra y se arremete contra mi mente con una oleada de pruebas que miden mi capacidad para manejar mi tiempo.

Abril

Team building de junta!! un nuevo miembro y mas oportunidades para desarrollar a AIESEC Javeriana. La familia un poco triste, mi abuela se enfermaba y las esperanzas desparecian poco a poco. La U mejoró increiblemente y seguia con mi mente en alto en medio de circuitos, economia y matematica.

Mayo

12 de Mayo, día de las madres, se va mi segunda mamá y me deja un beso en la frente para que recuerde la sabiduria de sus palabras y grandeza de un corazón. La U decae y la frialdad de las personas me recuerda un viejo proverbio chino : "No te preocupes por los problemas de los demás, probablemente ellos no se preocupen por los tuyos". Mi hermana en la distancia y yo con peso de llevar en alto la familia.

Junio

10 de junio, 21 años de vida cumplidos, lejos de mi hermana y despidiendo a la tía nana que cualquier persona en el mundo hubiera querido tener, se despide de mi otro ser querido, el cual se encargo de demostrarme que la inocencia es una virtud que muy pocas personas tienen; lejos de AIESEC por un momento acompañaba a mi familia en una de las etapas mas fuertes de la vida.

Julio

Un alto en el camino me lleva a visitar Cartagena y encontrarme con las personas que ironicamente mas cerca habian estado de mi pero que fisicamente no me habian podido acompañar. Reflexiones al lado de una cerveza cerca del mar me hacian sentir que relamente no estoy solo, que la vida me habia puesto en un grupo lleno de seres humanos excepcionales para aprender pero sobreotodo para crecer como persona.

Boom!, un milagro de la vida, Diosito me devuleve la visión y me libera del marco de mis pupilas que me acompañaban por 15 largos años.

Agosto

Empieza otro semestre, con la expectativa de poder mantener el equilibrio perfecto entre universidad, familia y AIESEC, nuevas ventas, mas newbies se avistaban y mas sueños que compartir. El equipo un poco debil , pero todos con la frente en alto hasta en las mas duras adverisdades.

Septiembre

Un mes muy retador, lleno de actividades que ponian a prueba mi manejo de tiempo para poder lograr todos mis objetivos por alcanzar.

Octubre

Woow!, decisiones se avecinaban, pero decidi ir al pueblo favorito del Simón Bolivar, lugar donde pude encontrarme con la mejor conferencia a la que he podido asisitir; resultados, aplicar a LCP y la bienvenida a un equipo de toda la region de Iberoamerica que ponia a prueba mi nivel de proactividad e ingles.

Noviembre

Yes we can!, como nuestro lider del 2009-2010 para AIESEC en Colombia lo dijo, LCP electo, con VP Comm electo y con el sueño de tener al lado todos los lideres que soñarian junto a mi el poder impactar vidas con la cultura de los pinguinos. La universidad mas retadora que nunca, cuadrando parciales, transiciones y junta eran el dia a dia de noviembre.

Diciembre

Aqui voy, con el mes mas intenso de mi vida hasta ahora, NPM host, LCP en PM y Finales, Papá enfadado por no estar con el en navidad, con la impotencia de no poder explicarle la importancia de AIESEC en mi vida y con una conferencia que me sacaba canas pero que me daba la felicidad de la labor bien hecha, porque si, pudimos ser y demostrar de que estan hechos los lideres de AIESEC Javeriana y porqué somos unos campeones!.

La segunda navidad y año nuevo de mi vida sin mi hermana, pero bueno con la luz de verla el 19 de enero del 2009 :D.

Muchos tenemos la capacidad de soñar, pocos de hacerlos realidad

Tres frases que mencione en mi discurso para la membresia de AIESEC Javeriana en la asamblea de elecciones del 8 de noviembre del 2008, colocando en las manos de cada uno de ellos la consideración de hacer un sueño realidad.

Y así fue, la gente creyó en una visión creyó en que podemos ser más, en que yo puedo al lado de ellos hacer realidades, guiar sueños y avivar la pasión de ser jóvenes y grandes.

Como los pingüinos, nunca hacia atrás, siempre unidos, en la fría Bogotá demostraremos que creer en la gente es la base para crear un ambiente de cambio de vidas, lo que esta organización nos entrega día a día.

Como dijo un alumnus de las generación de los 80s, "ahora soy gerente de una empresa, una empresa que produce un producto no muy regular, lideres"; ahora se viene un experiencia tan fuerte que va hacer que otro circulo de mi vida empiece, y que al igual al que estoy acabando en estos días, espero llevarlo a término con la felicidad que me da decir: hoy soy vicepresidente de relaciones externas y próximo presidente de mi amado AIESEC Javeriana.

Qué difícil es ser congruente, coherente, seguir las pasiones del alma.

cuestionamientos que a diario enfrentan mi cabeza sobre si verdaderamente lo que haga impacta mi vida, si realmente lo que hago responde a simplemente tres palabras, pensar, decir y hacer.

Volverse un mimo de la sociedad imitando lo que esta nos impone como "bueno", como "malo", como "profesional"; triste pero real. Los cuestionamientos y preconceptos que hacen perder la esencia del carácter, de la personalidad, de las pasiones y del alma.

las opiniones guardadas por crear una imagen, el control sobre todas las cosas, la obsesión y el narcótico natural que termina por destruir los mas intimos sueños que acompañan nuestra esencia.

Pensar en lo que digo, hacer lo que pienso, decir lo que hago, etc.

Soy real?, soy claro?, soy yo?.

Y qué llevar para el viaje?

Viajar, crecer, reflexionar , entender, extrañar, y muchas mas cosas pueden generar un viaje y más si son de esos que implican distancias eternas y estadías muy largas. Pero que hechar a la maleta de los recuerdos cuando ya te vas a ir?.... yo personalmente con mi experiencia puedo decir que:

1. El olor de la comida de tu mamá.
2. Las caricias de tu novi@.
3. La respiración de tu mascota.
4. La energía del sol de la mañana.
5. El cuadro de estrellas de tu ventana.
6. La sonrisa de tu mejor amigo.
7. La bendición de tu abuela.
8. Las palabras de tu padre.
9. El abrazo de tu herman@.
10. El orgullo de tu país.

Cuando se esta lejos, se valora, se crece y se extraña, nunca olvides que los viajes de la vida no tienen fecha avisada de partida y que los seres queridos puede también irse cuando no estas, por eso no cuando viajes llena tu maleta de bonitos recuerdos, sentimientos y sensaciones que solo ellos te pueden ofrecer.

Un Privilegio mas de la Vida

Hace ya un mes y medio que decidí cambiar la monotonía de mi vida, decidí cambiar mis hábitos de visión, decidí volver a ver.

Desde los 6 años de mi vida, recuerdo que mi papá me decía: "Su abuelo fue el primero en darse cuenta que usted no veía bien", pues bueno, así fue, a los 6 años de edad, fui a una cita con una señora que me dijo que tenia que usar lentes formulados o las tan comunes gafas, las cuales harían parte de mi vida durante un largo tramo.

Cuando empece ha usar gafas me dijeron, "solo las tienes que usar para leer y ver televisión", pero siempre me caracterice por ser un niño, muy, pero muy hiper activo, tal era el punto que practique desde fútbol, pasando por natación y llegando a voleibol, en fin todo lo que ustedes se puedan imaginar; el punto es que yo la verdad no era muy juicioso con las dichosas gafas, y adivinen, no las usaba ni para ver televisión, ni para leer.

Alrededor de 23 o 22 gafas tuve durante 16 años, incluso hubo un año que tuve tres pares de gafas, porque siempre las perdía, pobre de mi papá, siempre me decía, "por favor cuide estas" y yo le decía, "si papi, no ves que sin ellas no veo", que ingenuo fue mi papá cada vez que me creía.

A los 16 años descubrí que podía operarme mis ojos, por fin iba a dejar la dependencia a la dichosas gafas, pero me encontré con la maravillosa noticia de que hasta que no cumpliera 21 años no podría operarme, que mala noticia esa, tendría que esperar ahora 5 años para poder ver sin gafas.

Cada año que pasaba mi enfermedad aumentaba, y de verdad se tornaba un poco preocupante cuando tenias que pensarlo dos veces a la hora de salir a la calle si estaba lloviendo y no tenias una sombrilla para que no se te mojaran los lentes, difícil, no?.

Este año me acuerdo mucho el primero de enero porque dije, este año cumplo 21, este año me opero. Un sentimiento de ansiedad me acompañaba con mi ilusión de poderme despertar y no tener que buscar mis fieles compañeras de rostro.

30 de julio del 2008, ya tenía 21 años y estaba en la sala de espera, contando lo minutos para pasar al quirófano donde el doctor Barraquer me estaba esperando para cambiarme la vida. Después de 20 minutos de cirugía salí con los ojos vendados, irritados por la operación pero ansiosos de conocer el mundo después de 16 años. A las 2 horas de estar en recuperación, llego la hora, una enfermera junto a un grupo de médicos me están quitando las bandas de mis ojos,pero adivinen qué, me pusieron de inmediato unas gafas oscuras, muy irónica la situación, pero apenas pude ver a mi mamá en la puerta a mas de dos metros de donde yo estaba supe que Dios había estado conmigo y que gracias a él ya tenía de nuevo el privilegio de ver.

Un privilegio mas de la vida, algo que de repente no valoramos, pero que hace parte de los milagros que Dios cada día nos da, por eso todas las noche no me caso de decir: "Gracias Dios por darme otro día mas de vida y por permitirme ver de nuevo".

la situación si es tensionante y se convierte en dialogo totalmente bizantino en el cual al verse conflictos de valores y soberanía, ambas partes tendrán fuertes argumentos para defender su posición.

soy Colombiano, tengo 20 años y he tenido que ver día a día como mi país se cansa de ver muerte y desolación, como llevamos mas de 40 años en una guerra absurda sin respuestas claras y con una indiferencia en la cual me atrevo a afirmar,

nos acostumbramos al conflicto, a la intolerancia y a la corrupción.

No justifico la acciones desarrolladas por el gobierno colombiano, pero me indigna saber que en un país hermano se hacen minutos de silencio por la muerte de una persona que dirigió actos de barbarie y destrucción, que con ideologías de auto sabotaje pueda cubrirse con el dolor y las esperanzas de un pueblo. Ese punto no lo tolero, no se cuantas personas secuestradas, pudriéndose en la selva necesitan, cuantos muertos, cuantos desplazados, cuanto dolor quieren nuestros vecinos para entender que con la dignidad y sueños de un país no se juega.

Colombia, Ecuador y Venezuela, libertados por un mismo hombre, pero divididos por una sola organización,

que triste que tengamos que vivir con la sombra de un grupo que logro destruir la tranquilidad y continua posicionando a mi país como un país plagado de guerra.

Que se tomen las decisiones correspondientes con respecto a los problemas que se presentan en este momento, para eso tenemos a la OEA; pero si planto mi opinión de inconformismo, por que yo merezco respeto, porque mi país se merece la paz y porque el mundo se merece la verdad.

National Media Coodinator ... Una CHIMBA!!!!!!!!!!

Si pudiera describir cómo es la experiencia de ser coordinador nacional de medios de Comunicación para AIESEC en Colombia, les diría que es una Chimba!!!!!!!, no se alcanzan a imaginar lo que esta experiencia me enseñó en solo 4 meses de gestión, además de los retos de representar a mas de 900 personas en todos los medios de comunicación, eso es la LOCURA.

Relaciones publicas y mucha berraquera se necesita para poder lograr ser un embajador de AIESEC dentro de los medios, y es que a veces me preguntaba, qué demonios voy a decirle a un medio si tengo tanta información y tan poquito tiempo, pues al final resultaba muy grato darme cuenta que con solo un minuto que hablara, el medio ya estaba encima mio preguntándome muchisimas cosas, pero aún más peculiar siempre me decían y porqué esto no se sabía?.

Desde mi primera reunión hasta el videito que hice me la goce de principio a fin, pero de las cosas que más voy recordar fue haber logrado ser facilitador en un evento regional y uno nacional, no se imaginan la cantidad de retos y aprendizaje que puede dejar ser facilitador, pues nunca faltan baches, pero bueno eso hace pare de la dinámica de esta locura llamada AIESEC.

Agradecimientos muy especiales a Lina que siempre estuvo ahí pendiente de todo mi desarrollo, a mi mentee que irónicamente fue el que me embalo en el cuento de ser coordinador nacional y finalmente al equipo comm saliente y entrante por haberme enseñado tantas cosas.

A mi sucesor Germany la mejor de las suertes, disfrute cada momento de la coordinación porque es algo que definitivamente lo cambia y forma como esos agentes de cambio que estamos buscando ser.

Claridad al Lado de la Amiga Muerte

La claridad en las situaciones extremas es la mas verídica de las
verdades

Quería empezar este post con esta frase porque así como dice arriba, en una situación extrema que no puedes controlar, la claridad sobre las cosas se te dan en millonésimas de segundos, y solo tienes tiempo de actuar.

Hace unos días iba para la universidad Javeriana a encontrarme con los del comité, pues teníamos taller por competencias y yo iba a ser Faci de este. Me desperté muy juicioso con un día normal, un poco opaco, pero con el frió característico de las mañanas de Bogotá.

Cuando terminé de arreglarme fui y tome mi transmilenio, el acostumbrado F14, el cual es más rápido para llegar a la Jave. Todo transcurría muy tranquilamente, podía apreciar los acostumbrados enguyabados de la mañana y el contraste de los que se levantan a trabajar.

En el transmi me hice en los puestos que dan de frente a la rueda del centro, mas conocida como el acordeon del transmi, como no tenia la ventana de mi lado, estaba concentrado en las cosas que estaban haciendo la gente del centro.

Durante todo el recorrido empezaron a bajarse personas hasta que en el centro quedo uno de los enguaybados que les digo acostumbran a aparecerse en las mañanas de los sábados, lo peculiar del asunto es que el man estaba sentado en el piso del circulo y al lado tenia una maleta muy grande como de camping, hasta ese momento no tuve ningún problema.

Cuando llegue a la estación de los Héroes este tipo se bajo, pero dejo la maleta en el centro del transmilenio, nadie decía nada, todo seguía muy normal, pero yo si me empecé a preocupar. En un momento experimente millones de flashbacks de los atentados de los terroristas, las palabras de toda mi familia, la noticias, nooooooooo, ustedes se pueden imaginar todo lo que en ese momento pasaba por mi mente, lo peor es que la siguiente parada era la de la Marly, la cual quedaba a 30 cuadras de los Héroes.

Lo primero que piensa uno es, qué hago, pero eran tantos los nervios que no podía ni moverme de la silla, no podía hablar , estaba en un shock que me impedía hacer lo mas obvio que era decirle al conductor.

Pude generar la mayor cantidad de ideas que en mi vida había considerado podía hacer.

Pero el aprendizaje es que en ese momento pude analizar, qué me faltaba hacer en mi vida, qué quería hacer, qué no había hecho y cómo lo iba a hacer. Es muy gracioso porque muchas veces nos ponemos a filosofar sobre los caminos de la vida y muchas cosas, pero la claridad que uno tiene cuando esta en peligro es la mas efectiva, porque en ese instante no puedes engañarte así mismo, solamente hacer lo que debes y puedes hacer.

El todo es que, fueron los 10 minutos mas largos de mi vida, cuando pude salir del shock decidí que me iba bajar en la estación que estaba a solo dos cuadras, y seguir valorando mi vida así llegara tarde a mi cita. Es mejor arriesgar un huevo que perder una gallina decía mi abuelo.

Pero adivinen qué??, cuando llegamos a la estación , antes de que parara el transmilenio, el tipo que estaba a mi lado, se puso de pie, tomó la maleta y se bajó, AH!!!!!, es justo todo el vídeo que me monte para después saber que el presunto criminal era el hombre que estaba mi lado???

Después de todo, cuando ya iba caminado para la javeriana termine riéndome como un bobo solo, pero concluí que primero, mi imaginación me da como para cineasta y segundo, que valía la pena escribir esto en el blog, como buena reflexión de vida.

Muchas veces en la vida de todos suceden cosas que la verdad no le damos importancia, que simplemente siguen y finalmente se convierten en cosas.

Por una casualidad de la vida conocí una organización de personas muy, pero muy, buenas en todas la cosas que hacían, unos chinos que al igual que yo le gustaba sobreactuarsen en cada una de las cosas que hacían; solo escucharlos hablar me motivaba a seguir conociendo esta locura.

Hoy en día esta locura se ha convertido en parte de mi vida, pues dentro de las muchas cosas que me ha dado, puedo resaltar que me ha dado a una serie de personas que ahora son de las que más valoro y sobretodo de las que más he aprendido.

El día que decidí cambiar de comité local la verdad tenía un poco de miedo, pues llegar a un lugar donde máximo tres personas te conocían, era una situación que lo pone a uno a pensar en qué es lo que uno quiere para su futuro.

Los que me conocen saben que el Gato es una persona de retos y de cambios, y efectivamente me cambie de comité local, llegue a otro comité de Bogotá que me abrió las puertas de una forma sorprendente, fue algo tan cálido y familiar que me hizo sentirme como en una casa llena de papás y mamás de mi misma edad.

Empecé a darme cuenta qué sorprendente es esa frase de "La realidad de cada comité es distinta", ya que fue un choque que me hizo caer en cuenta que mi resistencia al cambio ya no era una resistencia, si no adopción responsable del cambio, un cambio que me gusta, pues si lo extendemos un poco más, esta situación se presenta diariamente con millones de personas, no sólo en AIESEC sino también en oficinas, colegios y universidades.

Al principio no medía la magnitud de la cantidad de información y crecimiento personal que iba a tener, pero en este instante puedo mirar atrás a los ya casi dos meses dentro de mi nuevo comité local y solo encuentro algo que se resume en una palabra, ÉXITOS.

Patry decía en el último MC coach , el XP no es un conducto que te condicione, cada persona es libre de desarrollar su experiencia como se sienta más cómoda; que palabras tan bacanas , pues fueron el open que necesitaba, ya que en algún momento pensé que si aplicar a una coordinación nacional con menos de un año de experiencia iba a ser bueno para mi crecimiento, al día de hoy puedo decir que ha sido de las mejores decisiones de mi vida.

Es muy impresionante que todos seamos tan distintos pero que tengamos una misma PASIÓN, una pasión de aprender y desarrollarnos junto a personas que trascenderán para toda la vida.

Finalmente, solo les quiero decir que el día que

salí a buscar mis oportunidades y no esperarlas

, logré crecer, y lo más importante encontré la mejor oportunidad que mi vida ha puesto en frente mio, AIESEC. Bien sea como coordinador nacional, coordinador local o como ejecutivo de cuentas, solo se que siempre voy a ser Esteban Navarro, el mismo que esta dispuesto a crecer y aprender al lado de personas que quiero y aprecio como si fueran mi familia.

Alguien me dijo alguna vez que a Esteban Navarro le ocurren cosas que por lo general son fuera de lo común, y eso es como cierto, esta es una de esas historias que son muy peculiares pero chistosas.

Según mi buen amigo Murphy, Si algo puede salir mal, saldra mal, esa ley definitivamente esta destinada a estar conmigo durante mucho rato.

Ayer en la tarde estaba en mi apartamento haciendo mi comida y calificnado trabajos de la monitoria, cuando de repente me dieron ganas de entrar al baño, y pues muy casual me dirigí a este, cuando termine de hacer mis necesidades, cerre la puerta porque mi primo estaba en el apartamento y pues me daba pena, ustedes ya se imaginaran porqué.

Despúes de haber comido mi huevito con arroz, y haberme tomado mi milo frío, me sente a hablar basura con mis amigos del messenger. Cada vez que yo como algo tengo la costumbre de llenar una botella de agua y tomarmela, bueno el todo es que, entre charla y charla ya llevaba dos botellas y media de agua. Pasado un tiempo decidí decirle a todos adios porque ya tenía que seguir calificando trabajos, entonces paso algo que tenía que pasar por simple lógica con mi cuerpo.

Ese mismo día en la mañana entre a bañarme y había peliado como 10 minutos con la puerta porque habia puesto seguro y se habia trancado la puerta, lo verdaderamente preocupante es que cuando logre abrir la puerta el seguro no se habia salido, entonces teoricamente pude abrir la puerta a golpes pero esta seguía aún con seguro.

Entoces, recapitulemos, primero, Esteban había cerrado la puerta del baño la cual seguía aún con seguro y obviamente estaba trancada,segundo, Esteban acababa de tomarse un milo frio mas dos botellas y media de agua, y tercero, su vejiga ya tenía bastantes líquidos para que despues de dos horas y media pidiera que abrieran la valvula, cúal es el resultado de todo esto.... CAOS!!!.
En esta situación en la que estaba, solo habia que hacer lo que dicen cuando hay un terremoto, conserve la calma y salga despacio, el hecho fue que, como buen ingenierio empece a meterle cualquier cosa con punta que encontrara en el apto a esa chapa, pero el resultado despues de haber metido cuchillo, tenedor, lapiz y en fin un sin número de cosas fue que el baño ya no era mi solución, ya que para rematar mi primo ya estaba durmiendo y en la habitación de él había un baño pero al cual no podia entrar.

Dentro de mi recorrido de lado a lado por el apartamento empecé a descartar posibilidades, Ventana... no, Lavaplatos.... no, Lavadero.... puede ser, pero la pregunta era , cómo carajos me voy a encaramar en el lavadero y no mojar todo de mis liquidos internos, entonces fue ahí, cuando ví la salvación, era la solución perfecta a mis problemas, era una espectacular y hermosa botella de 2 litros y medio de 7up, los pasos a seguir fueron introducir mi organo reproductor dentro de la botella, y sentir...........FELICIDAD, si señores, despúes de haber terminado la solución fue botar la gaseosa en el lavadero y finalmente terminar con esta pesadilla.

Bueno pero qué paso con el baño?

Esta mañana me desperté, adiven con qué, con unas ganas de ir al baño ni las mas #~·%$/(, pero mi primo ya no estaba en el apto y pude entrar al baño de él, finalmente despúes de una hora pude abrir el baño con unas tijeras!

En efecto, en la mañana, usted desayuna con un Croissant, sale Chic para la universidad en su Renault Clio o Mégane, después de arreglarse con un producto Jolie de Vogue, comprado en Carrefour, al almuerzo escoge entre Filete y Cordon Bleu y como postre un Mousse de chocolate. Si tiene afán, visite alguna Charcutería, en la noche lea algún libro de Sartre o un Magazín, o busque entender porque sintio ese Déjà vu matinal. El fin de semana aprovechelo para el Bricolaje con colbón o no aplace ese Manicure que le hace falta por usar Bon Bril.
